Kristin Markiewicz
Harbor Creek graduate Kristin Markiewicz, a defender on the University at Buffalo women’s soccer team, was named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference team for the second straight season this week.
Markiewicz, a senior in the pharmacy program with a 3.40 grade-point average, was one of a program-record seven UB players to earn a spot on the team.
Markiewicz was a big contributor at the center back position for the Bulls, helping UB (11-7-3 this season) record eight shutouts on the year. The senior captain started all 21 matches for the Bulls while notching one assist. Markiewicz was named to the MAC all-tournament team after two solid performances in the conference tournament.
She finished her career with three goals and four assists for 10 points.
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics.
